Morning Prayer Service II April 26, 2020

This week, we anticipate Governor Edwards’ further directives to extend or modify the present restrictions in hopes of our gradual return to social interaction in Louisiana. At Church of the Ascension, we are already considering what changes to our gathered worship would reduce risk to our parishioners.

In the meantime, we pray separately and together, within our homes or over the phone, and, in some cases, via electronic social media. This week, we will be providing information opportunities for online interaction and faith formation with your parish clergy.

We hope to see each other soon—truly not virtually—remembering, as Paul the Apostle put it, “We walk by faith, not sight.” This week’s scriptures and meditation remind us that we share with the first Christians the challenge to persevere in faith and faithfulness in our moment of exile. And we offer this Sunday’s Morning Prayer liturgy of scriptures, prayers and meditation with our prayers for you, your friends and families, asking that you keep us in your prayers too.

With the peace of the Risen Christ,

The Rev'd Joseph Daly
