Ascension Children & Youth Ministries

At Ascension, we believe in the importance of fellowship and Christian formation for all ages, especially our youngest members!

Nursery

Every Sunday, nursery is provided for infants and toddlers. Experienced nursery care provider and early child educator, Ms. Mona Kellogg, oversees activities for our youngest members with a well-trained and loving team. Questions? Contact Mona Kellogg, Nursery Director ([email protected]).

Sunday School

Sunday School classes for elementary school-aged kids meet at 10:00 a.m in the Youth Room. We use the Hearts Alive curriculum, a Bible-based, Christ-centered curriculum that follows the same Scripture readings and liturgical calendar as we all hear together on Sunday mornings. Questions? Would you like to join our team of teachers? Contact Angelle Adams, Children and Family Ministries Director ([email protected]).

Children and Family Ministries

We offer a variety of events year-round for families with children of all ages! In addition to Sunday School, we gather regularly for fun, fellowship, and service. Questions? Would you like to join or help serve this important ministry? Contact Angelle Adams, Children and Family Ministries Director ([email protected]).

Ascension Youth Group (EYC)

Ascension middle and high-school aged youth are an important part of our community, and we’ll be gathering regularly for fun, fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and service. Questions? Would you like to join or help serve this important ministry? Contact Fr. Jake Schlossberg, Ascension Upper School Chaplain and Clergy Associate for Youth Ministry ([email protected]).

Children’s Church

During the 11am service, all elementary school-aged children are invited to begin church with an age-appropriate worship time just for them in the Youth Room. Through stories, music, crafts, and activities, kids are invited to reflect on the same Bible stories that are appointed in the lectionary for that Sunday. After the sermon, they are led back into church to join their families for Holy Communion. Of course, children are always welcome to stay in church with their families for the entire service, if they would rather! Questions? Would you like to join our team of teachers? Contact Angelle Adams, Children and Family Ministries Director ([email protected]).

Acolyte Corps

If your student is in 4th-12th grade, they are welcome to join our dedicated crew of acolytes to assist our whole church in the worship of our Lord and Savior. Service is typically one Sunday per month at the 11am service, on a rotating schedule. Questions? Interested in joining us? Contact Fr. Jake Schlossberg, Ascension Upper School Chaplain and Clergy Associate for Youth Ministry ([email protected]).
